There are five games in week 17 of the NLL, four of which hold playoff implications with Vancouver and Colorado fighting for the last spot in the West Division and Buffalo and Toronto going head to head for a home playoff game in the East Division.

The Bandits (8-7) have defeated the Rock (7-9) by a score of 12-10 twice this season, once in Buffalo, once in Toronto. On Friday, the Bandits return to Toronto looking to snap a five game losing skid and sweep the series. Also on the line? A home playoff game; if Buffalo wins they’ll host Toronto in Banditland.

Last weekend Edmonton swept their East Division road trip; this weekend their provincial rivals will attempt to do the same. The Calgary Roughnecks (8-5) stop into Philadelphia to take on the Wings (5-9), with both teams on a two-game win streak. On Saturday, the Bandits (8-5) return to Buffalo after losing three on the road to host the Roughnecks.

The Rush (11-0) set off for a two-game eastern road trip stopping in Rochester Saturday night and then Toronto on Sunday afternoon. While the Rush remain undefeated in all games, the Knighthawks (9-3) are undefeated at home this season. The Rock (4-6), anxious for another win, will be looking to use the home floor advantage against the league leaders. The Rush have faced both teams once so far this season, in Edmonton, defeating the pair by one goal in each game.

Friday. Toronto Rock at Edmonton Rush. Do the Rush make it eight in a row? Or do the Rock get their first road win of the 2014 NLL season?

The Rock (4-4) start their tour of Alberta on Friday evening in Edmonton before facing the Roughnecks (5-3) in Calgary on Saturday night. This is the Rush and Rock’s first meeting of the season while the Rock dominated the Roughnecks in week two in Toronto. Is it time for payback? Also on Saturday, the Rochester Knighthawks (5-3) finish off their three week road trip in Colorado against the Mammoth (4-6) for the pair’s only meeting of the season.

Don’t you love when the timing of the NLL games works out so that you can watch all games instead of choosing between a few? Me too.

We’ve got three games on deck this weekend. First up, to start their weekend roadie, the Swarm (1-6) look for their second win of the season against the Toronto Rock (3-4), the team Minnesota knocked out of playoffs last spring. Later on Saturday the Rochester Knighthawks (5-2) continue their three week road trip travelling west to face the Calgary Roughnecks (4-3). To close out the weekend, the Swarm head to Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon to face the Wings (3-6) for the third time this season.

The Stealth’s road trip continues on Saturday as they head to Calgary to take on the Roughnecks (3-3). Also on Saturday, the Rochester Knighthawks (4-2) make the short trek across the border to face the Toronto Rock (3-3). Interestingly, both east division teams have won at home and lost on the road this season. Does it continue? The IL Indoor team is split.
