The 2013 National Lacrosse League season was put to bed just 3 days ago. And so, we move to do the same with ILIndoor’s National Lacrosse League Girl of the Week contest. Your votes throughout the season have been strong and plentiful, so we expect nothing less of our matchup for the final, which pits Allie of the Colorado Wild Bunch against Jacq of the Calgary Drill Crew. It wasn’t a happy ending to the season for the West Division of the NLL as the Rochester Knighthawks of the East downed the Washington Stealth on Saturday to win it all. But no matter what happens with this contest, we know the West will be a winner. READ MORE »

We’ve gotta be careful here, because the excitement is starting to bubble over. The reason for said excitement is easy enough to explain as we have our first finalist in our National Lacrosse League Girl of the Week contest. It’s Jacq of the Calgary Drill Crew, who advances to the final by virtue of a vote count of 27,811 to 10,514 for April of the Philadelphia Angels. Who Jacq faces in the final is yet to be determined, but it’ll be either Allie of the Colorado Wild Bunch or Brianna of the Buffalo Bandettes. READ MORE »

National Lacrosse League teams in Calgary, Washington, Minnesota and Rochester are preparing for semifinal games this weekend. But today, we have dance team members in Calgary and Philadelphia getting the semifinals started. Jacq of Calgary’s Drill Crew is up against April of the Philadelphia Angels. The winner of this matchup takes on either Allie of the Colorado Wild Bunch or Brianna of the Buffalo Bandettes. Brianna was our final dancer to advance from the quarterfinals as both dancers pulled in a ton of votes. But it was Brianna who outpolled Leah by a count of 19,033 to 15,375. Brianna and Allie will be back next week as we get it started today with Jacq and April. READ MORE »

We’ve seen a lot over the course of our National Lacrosse League Girl of the Week contest. Big voter turnouts, small voter turnouts. We’ve seen tight wins and then we’ve seen what we’re seeing this week: Big wins. That’s how Allie of the Colorado Wild Bunch is advancing to the semifinals of our illustrious polling event. Allie rang up 6,350 votes to 104 for Jillian of the Washington Bombshells. It’s a bit surprising considering the strength of both contestants, but like it’s said on the lacrosse floor: You can’t argue with the scoreboard. So now we move on to our final quarterfinal matchup, putting Leah of the Colorado Wild Bunch up against Brianna of the Buffalo Bandettes. READ MORE »

The polls were busy for this week’s National Lacrosse League Girl of the Week quarterfinal matchup between Philadelphia’s April and Calgary’s Michelle. And with the dust now sufficiently settled, we report to you that it’s April moving on to the semifinals. Michelle did well, but fell short with only 60,339 votes. April came in with 68,831 votes and like we said, the voting was fast and furious right up to the end. In fact, we watched more than 200 votes being cast for each contestant in the final hour before we officially closed the poll. Impressive! So on we move to our third quarterfinal set, pitting Jillian of the Washington Bombshells up against Allie of the Colorado Wild Bunch. READ MORE »

Onward we march in this quest to crown a National Lacrosse League Girl of the Year. Michelle, a big winner with more than 17,000 votes in her first-round contest, takes on April of Philadelphia, another big winner in the first round. Will Calgary sweep Philadelphia out of contention? Or will the City of Brotherly Love rally to even the score? That’s up to you, dear voter. READ MORE »

NLL Girl of the Week: It’s Colorado’s Allie up against Dayna of the Toronto Rock

At least someone in Buffalo kept the good kind of streak going. Brianna of the Buffalo Bandettes outpolled Skye of the Washington Bombshells by a count of 9,792 to 8,472 to make brunettes a winner for a third straight week in our National Lacrosse League Girl of the Week contest. Of course, it’s easier when both contestants last week were brunettes. The Bandits of Buffalo, losers of 4 straight games, wouldn’t give a lick about the hair color of the person who had the answer to end their current miseries. So even though Brianna and the Bandettes may not have a lot to cheer about in Buffalo these days, she’s moving on to the second round. But before we get to that, we’ve got a final first-round matchup to take care of and this week, it’s Allie of the Colorado Wild Bunch going up against Dayna of the Toronto Rock. READ MORE »
