Bob Chavez

Bob is a newspaper journalist in Rochester, N.Y., and has been doing work for Inside Lacrosse Magazine for 12 years and helped launch ILIndoor in 2007. The lacrosse scene in Western New York keeps him busy year-round with plenty of news to follow in the NLL and local high schools and colleges. After some club lacrosse in college, Bob plays indoors and outdoors in a Rochester-based men’s league and has also played at the Lake Placid tournament every year since 2005 with the Buffalo Soldiers. Stephen Stamp

Ty Pilson

Ty began covering the NLL in 2000 when it was announced the league was expanding to Calgary. He covered the team and the league for the Calgary Sun as one of the NLL’s top beat writers until handing off the Roughnecks’ responsibilities when he was promoted to the post of sports editor at the paper. He continues to write for Inside Lacrosse Magazine and follow the league closely. Pilson grew up playing lacrosse in Calgary, where he still resides with his wife Tara and children Aidan and Abigail. Brian Shanahan

Shanny has 40 years of lacrosse experience, including five straight Mann Cups (1992-1996). After playing one year in the NLL as a 37-year-old rookie for the Ontario Raiders in 1998, he jumped to TV in 1999. He is in his 15th year as a television analyst and currently works for TSN on the Toronto Rock Broadcasts. In the summer he is the analyst for the Hamilton Nationals of the MLL. He has called over 200 games in his career has also called games for The Score, Sportsnet, CBC, NBC, FoxSports, ESPN, and VERSUS. Before joining Inside Lacrosse in 2005, he wrote a regular lacrosse column for the Toronto Sun. Shanny and his wife Carol have three teenage children who all play lacrosse and hockey. Ted Jenner

Jenner has been with ILIndoor.com since its origins and continues to be one of the foremost insiders of the game. The host of the Off the Crosse-Bar Radio Show on TEAM 1410 and TEAMRadio.ca in Vancouver on Tuesday nights, Jenner also hosts the OTCB Podcast here on ILIndoor. He continually gives us in-depth coverage from the West Coast. With six years of NLL experience, eight years in the WLA and two Mann Cups on his resume, Jenner knows what it takes to be at the top of the lacrosse world and strives to bring the most extensive coverage from all sides.

Marty O’Neill

O’Neill is a three-time Mann Cup winner and former general manager of the Philadelphia Wings (2001-2004) and Minnesota Swarm (2004-2010), where he was twice named NLL GM of the Year (2007, 2008).

Tom Ryan

A nine-year NLL veteran, Ryan played in Boston and Baltimore, before joining Philadelphia, where he was a member of the 2001 Champion’s Cup-winning team. Tom was the head coach of the US Indoor Team at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in Prague in 2011 and in Halifax in 2007. Ryan was head coach and GM of the Boston Blazers and is currently the head coach and GM for the Charlotte Copperheads  of the Professionall Lacrosse League.

Tom has a master’s degree in psychology and released a DVD entitled Stir It Up: An Exploration into the Mind and Spirit of Lacrosse, a film that is both inspirational and informative.

Casey Vock

After covering field and box lacrosse in New York and Canada for about two years, Vock was hired as a full-time writer in November 2011 and joined the Inside Lacrosse staff in Baltimore. In April of 2012, he helped launch ILGear.com, Inside Lacrosse’s website for gear, lifestyle and other player-related content. He was named the editor of ILGear.com in November 2012.  A native of upstate New York, Vock was a captain of the men’s lacrosse team at Jefferson Community College. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business and journalism from SUNY Plattsburgh and master’s degrees in media management and business administration from Syracuse University. He is an obsessive lacrosse gear collector.

Steve Kojima

Steve began covering lacrosse in 2003 as a journalist for LacrosseTalk, before joining Inside Lacrosse in 2007 as IL’s top correspondent during the Mann Cup. A native of Victoria, B.C., Kojima’s lacrosse accomplishments include two All-American honors at Simon Fraser University. His only year of Jr. A, he led Coquitlam in scoring and was voted one of B.C.’s Top 15 Jr. A players. Steve now competes for Team Bermuda at International Lacrosse Federation events, while working as a business consultant for some of Canada’s largest corporations.
