We all love happy endings, right? The battle for Tucker Williams may not be over, but it’s taken a big step toward victory. The son of Shawn Williams, veteran forward for the NLL’s Buffalo Bandits and MSL’s Brooklin Redmen, is back on the floor playing lacrosse just months after he began treatment for Stage III Burkitt Lymphoma. “Going into it you have those mixed emotions, but as he was going through (treatment), you just knew he was going to be out here. It’s great to see him back that fast,” Shawn Williams told DurhamRegion.com, adding that his 8-year-old son is in full remission and the long-term prognosis is very good. “I’m tired, we were all tired, but it’s all part of it. We had the easy part, Tucker had the tough part. His attitude made it easier on us.” In the meantime, Shawn also is back on the floor and has 10 assists through 2 games for the Redmen, who are 1-1 so far.
