The news of Tucker Williams has been spreading across the lacrosse world and as expected, the lacrosse world is ready to respond and help. We learned yesterday from Paul Stewart exactly what the son of Buffalo Bandits forward Shawn Williams is up against, and how we can help. Today, we take you to the Philadelphia area and Tracey Happold-Brown, who is collecting books and toys for Tucker. Happold-Brown grew up playing lacrosse and remains involved, but also has had her life impacted by friends and colleagues afflicted by cancer. And while Tucker’s battling Stage III Burkitt Lymphoma, it doesn’t change the way Happold-Brown wants to help. She says she’ll send the donations to the Williams family, even if it means driving them to Canada herself. “I cannot develop a medicine to help, I cannot cure it, and I cannot change the situation,” she said in an email. “However, I can help and offer hope. Little things lead to bigger things. People can donate a book or a toy to Tucker and help make this difficult situation a little easier.” Contact Tracey at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Facebook page at “Braver Than Brave Tucker Support PA/MD.”Chavez is an avid lacrosse player in Rochester and a journalist for the Democrat and Chronicle as well as a longtime Inside Lacrosse contributor.
