Dane Dobbie wasn’t just born with skill. Then again, his bloodlines don’t hurt. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather Bob, a Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Famer, and his father Larry, Dane has made a name for himself with a passion and drive to be one of the game’s best. In his seventh National Lacrosse League season with the Calgary Roughnecks, that passion is evident game in and game out. It’s an approach his current NLL coach, Curt Malawsky, can appreciate. “When we get a big goal, he shows that raw emotion and it runs through the team, the guys start playing better and it’s almost like he has this spell on the guys,” Malawsky recently told the Calgary Herald. “How do you not reward a guy for his passion and dedication? He’s been nicked up over the years but you wouldn’t know it. Try to pull him out of the lineup. Good luck.”
