The Philadelphia Wings have named transition veteran Brodie Merrill as team captain for the third straight season as the Wings prepare to open their 2014 National Lacrosse League season tomorrow night in Buffalo. Brett Manney and Jordan Hall will serve as alternates for the 2014 season. “We are fortunate to have strong leadership from these three and others on the team to point us in the right direction for 2014,” coach Blane Harrison said in a statement. Meanwhile in Toronto, the Rock have named 3 alternates as veteran Colin Doyle readies to serve as captain for the 5th straight season. Defender Sandy Chapman will be an alternate at home and on the road, while forward Josh Sanderson will be an alternate for home games and defender Patrick Merrill will be an alternate for road games.
