Veteran forward Mike Accursi was surprise cut earlier this week by the Rochester Knighthawks, but he’s not finished. The National Lacrosse League team announced today that Accursi will remain with the team by taking a job in the front office. “Whatever role I am going to play with the team, I am going to give my heart and soul to the Knighthawks, Curt (Styres) and this organization,” Accursi told Knighthawks.com. Accursi is a 4-time NLL champion, winning 3 titles with the Knighthawks and 1 with the Buffalo Bandits. He played 16 seasons in the NLL. “He has a wealth of knowledge and game experience,” coach Mike Hasen said. “We are constantly adding ways to be successful. Having his views and abilities will go a long way in helping make us better.”Chavez is an avid lacrosse player in Rochester and a journalist for the Democrat and Chronicle as well as a longtime Inside Lacrosse contributor.
