Player signings in the National Lacrosse League are continuing their red-hot pace as a handful of contracts were announced yesterday. Getting top billing, though, would be Adam Jones. He signed a 5-year deal with the Colorado Mammoth, which announced that the long-term deal for the left-handed forward out of Owen Sound, Ont., is the longest contract in team history. “Adam’s already a star, and one of the best young talents in the National Lacrosse League,” Mammoth GM Steve Govett said in a statement. Elsewhere, the Stealth announced new contracts for Tyler Richards and Cliff Smith, while the Buffalo Bandits locked up David Brock and Colin Bouchard with 2-year deals, the Edmonton Rush signed Jeff Cornwall and Dave Marrese to 1-year deals, and the Rochester Knighthawks signed draft picks Mark White and Taylor Northway.Chavez is an avid lacrosse player in Rochester and a journalist for the Democrat and Chronicle as well as a longtime Inside Lacrosse contributor.
