With National Lacrosse League rosters shrinking from 23 to 20 active players, competition for roster spots is getting more intense than ever. That doesn’t just go for the players, though. It looks like NLL teams’ dance troupes are drawing more and more candidates, meaning it’s no sure thing that returning vets will have spots waiting for them. The situation is presented very well in this video about the Calgary Drill Crew’s tryout boot camp. 14 of last year’s 18 Drill Crew members are back, but as their director Dana Murphy points out, the vets don’t have a free pass.
