The Vancouver Stealth have yet to play a National Lacrosse League game in their official new barn, the Langley Events Centre, but it already feels like home. “You go to some teams in the league and you are practising an hour outside the city in a soccer centre,” Jamie Shewchuk, who was at the Stealth’s free agent camp this weekend told The Province of the Stealth’s practice facility, across the street from the LEC. “It’s amazing what’s been done here for the Stealth. It’s nice for them to have a home.” Shewchuk wasn’t the only free agent in town as Alex Gajic is looking to resurrect his NLL career, while former NCAA and Loyola stud Josh Hawkins also was in town to show his lacrosse skills as well as offer his opinion on being surrounded by so many Canadians.Chavez is an avid lacrosse player in Rochester and a journalist for the Democrat and Chronicle as well as a longtime Inside Lacrosse contributor.
