Who Ya Got? NLL Week 10 Fan Picks

In week 5 of the National Lacrosse League the Toronto Rock stunned Bandit fans when they picked up the road win. Last week, in a rare Thursday evening game, Buffalo, looking for redemption, beat the Rock 15-13. Buffalo returned home to face the Philadelphia Wings on Friday night; the two have met twice previously this season, each with a home win. Spending too much time in the box and trailing after 2, the Wings outscored the Bandits in the second half sending the game to overtime and ultimately scored the game-winning goal 3.5 minutes into OT, besting the Bandits 11-10. On Saturday, in a game that would define last place in the league, the Rochester Knighthawks held onto a second half lead to defeat the Colorado Mammoth 12-11. Also on Saturday, the Edmonton Rush broke a 12 game regular season winless streak against Alberta rivals the Calgary Roughnecks in a commanding 18-13 win in Calgary. On Sunday, in the only home-floor win of the weekend, the Washington Stealth came out on top over the Minnesota Swarm 11-8.

There are four games on the schedule in week 10, involving seven of nine teams on Friday and Saturday. In their first of two games this weekend, last place Colorado Mammoth (2-6) head to Toronto to take on the first place Rock (6-3). The Minnesota Swarm and Calgary Roughnecks played their first match-up of the season three weeks ago, the ‘necks coming away with the road win. This weekend, the Roughnecks (5-5) host the Swarm (3-6). The Mammoth continue their eastern road-trip, visiting the Buffalo Bandits (5-4) on Saturday night. Later on Saturday, in the third inter-divisional game of the weekend, the Philadelphia Wings return home to host the Washington Stealth (6-4). The Edmonton Rush and Rochester Knighthawks have a bye this week.

For the third week in a row I went 2-3 with my picks; I may have been overzealous in saying Teddy, Casey and I (we had the same picks) were going 5-0, but confidence is good, right? Fans also had the same picks, correctly choosing Rochester over Colorado and Washington over Minnesota. Fan picks for the season are at 14-21-6.

With 3 of 4 teams meeting for the first time this season, I’m not sure who to choose. I’m spending a little more time on the beach and a little less time in front of my computer this week, so, since you can practically read my mind, fans, who ya got?
