The National Lacrosse League has announced Player of the Week awards for Week 6 of the 2013 NLL regular season which featured all nine teams in Friday or Saturday games.

The Calgary Roughnecks and Edmonton Rush squared off in the second of four 2013 season Battles of Alberta. The Roughnecks, who have now won four in a row, bested the Rush for the second time in as many weeks and have won the last 10 regular season games against the Rush. The Toronto Rock, who were on a five game winning streak, lost their second of the season in overtime to the Minnesota Swarm. The Rochester Knighthawks, who got off to a slow start this season, exploded this weekend, scoring 35 goals in two games, picking up wins against the Philadelphia Wings on Friday morning and the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday. In the last game of the weekend, the Colorado Mammoth, who continue to go back and forth between wins and losses this season, were defeated by the Washington Stealth.

Cody Jamieson, chosen first overall by the Rochester Knighthawks in the 2010 NLL Draft and 2012 Champions Cup MVP, was awarded Offensive Player of the Week after recording 16 total points in Rochester’s back-to-back road wins last weekend.  The Team 22 Sponsored Jamieson had seven points (3G, 4A) and 2 loose balls in Friday’s 20-10 win in Philadelphia and nine points (2G, 7A) and 3 loose balls in the 15-7 win against Buffalo on Saturday.

Playing in his third season with the Minnesota Swarm, Tyler Hass has been named Transition Player of the Week after recording 4 loose balls and 3 goals, including Friday’s overtime game-winner in Minnesota’s 13-12 win over the Toronto Rock.

After Saturday`s 13-6 win, making 51 saves on 57 shots (6 GAA, .895 SV%) against Colorado and recording one assist, Washington Stealth goalie Tyler Richards has been named Defensive Player of the Week. Richards is also currently leading the league in goals against average (10.01 for the 2013 season).

Picking up his second NLL Player of the Week award this season Washington Stealth transition Mitch McMichael has been named Rookie Player of the Week. McMichael recorded two goals and four loose balls in the Stealth`s 13-6 win over the Colorado Mammoth. McMichael was named Transition Player of the Week in Week 1.

The NLL Player Awards are determined by a weekly vote of the league’s general managers and head coaches.
