Boxla Beat has moved, now bringing the best of lacrosse radio to the NLL.com network. It will appear each Tuesday during the NLL season and we’ll make sure you can get to it right here on IL Indoor. Just follow this link to check out the show.
Every week I’ll be joined by players, coaches and managers from the National Lacrosse League to go behind the scenes into their lives in lacrosse. The first show is up now and it started with a bang: my guests this week are a pair of star right-handed forwards. Garrett Billings is coming off a season where he set the single-season assist record and fell just short of John Tavares’ scoring mark, although that wasn’t enough to win the scoring title thanks to John Grant’s monster year. Billings and I talk about following up on his huge season and what it’s like not only playing but also working for the Rock. He got to pick his own job title and he’s working hard to grow the Toronto fan base.
My other guest is in a very different place. Tracey Kelusky is an all-time great who in 2012 had his worst NLL season. Find out what he’s done over the off-season to prepare to make 2013 better for him and Buffalo. Kelusky is very candid about his struggles and Bandits fans will be pleased to hear that he’s feeling as good as he ever has and expects to have a much better season.Stamp is a TV sports announcer and lacrosse lover whose skill set made him a defender but who always dreamed of being a goal-scorer. He can be reached at email@example.com.
