The Toronto Rock’s town hall meeting with fans Tuesday night at the team’s Athletic Centre gave fans a chance to interact with ownership and players. It also gave fans a chance to see the team’s third jersey for the 2013 National Lacrosse League season. It’s a throwback to the 1999 and 2000 seasons, the team’s first 2 seasons in the NLL. “We had a lot of demand to bring this jersey back from our fans,” Rock owner Jamie Dawick said in a statement. “We know our long time fans have a real connection to the days at Maple Leaf Gardens and this particular jersey was a big part of it.” The Rock will wear the jersey in their Jan. 19 home opener and in their March 8 charity night game in which the game-worn jerseys will be auctioned afterward to raise money for charity.Chavez is an avid lacrosse player in Rochester and a journalist for the Democrat and Chronicle as well as a longtime Inside Lacrosse contributor.
