The Washington Stealth signed a key part of their offensive front for the season in veteran forward Athan Iannucci. The right-hander, entering his 7th National Lacrosse League season, played just 11 games last season for the Stealth after he was traded to Washington from the Edmonton Rush. He started slowly, with just 3 goals in his first 4 games but found his groove and finished with 21 goals, 12 of them coming in the final 4 games of the season. “He is big, strong and always finds a way to get to the net which provides us with multiple threats up front,” Stealth GM Doug Locker said on the team’s website. Iannucci signed a 1-year contract and will be in camp this weekend as the team travels to Langley, B.C., for Saturday and Sunday sessions.Chavez is an avid lacrosse player in Rochester and a journalist for the Democrat and Chronicle as well as a longtime Inside Lacrosse contributor.
