Art Webster wasn’t out of the WLA long- Returns as Shamrocks Assistant

The Victoria Shamrocks of the Western Lacrosse Association
are very pleased to announce that Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Famer, Art Webster, is returning to the club as an Assistant Coach. Webster will work alongside the returning members of the coaching staff, Head Coach, Bob Heyes and Assistant Coaches Jordan Sundher and Dave Lowdon.

Webster has been an Assistant Coach with the Washington Stealth of the
National Lacrosse League for the last seven years and was part of their
championship season in 2010. He has been the Head Coach of the WLA’s Nanaimo
Timbermen for the last three years but he recently stepped down from that
position.

For approximately 30 years prior to that he was a member of the
Shamrocks organization – first as a player and team captain, then as an
Assistant Coach and then as Head Coach. During that time he won two Mann Cup
championships as a player (1979 and 1983) and two more as an Assistant Coach
(2003 and 2005). He is enshrined on the Shamrocks Wall of Fame at Bear
Mountain Arena.

“Arty bleeds the deepest, darkest shade of Green” says
Chris Welch – Shamrocks General Manager, “He’s a great team guy and he
brings a wealth of experience to our young group as we strive towards
bringing the Mann Cup back to Victoria.
