The final 2 teams playing in the National Lacrosse League’s 2012 season will be the first to officially begin preparations for 2013. The Rochester Knighthawks and Edmonton Rush, who played in the Champion’s Cup final last May in Rochester, open their training camps this weekend. The Knighthawks are the NLL’s reigning champions and will practice at Total Sports Experience west of Rochester and the Rush will hold their first team training session at Iroquois Lacrosse Arena at Six Nations. So what’s up with the rest of the teams? Some have announced their plans, others are waiting. But to find out who’s saying what, you’ll have to make the jump.
The Buffalo Bandits open camp on Saturday, Dec. 1 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo. More details and information is coming.
The Calgary Roughnecks open camp the weekend of Dec. 7-9 in Langley, B.C. It’s a 3-day event for the Riggers, which includes a Dec. 8 exhibition game against the Colorado Mammoth at Langley Events Centre.
The Colorado Mammoth open camp on Nov. 30 at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ont., before heading to B.C. for the Dec. 8 exhibition against the Roughnecks.
The Edmonton Rush open camp from Nov. 24-25 in Six Nations, Ontario. On Dec. 8, the Rush scrimmage the Toronto Rock at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre before camp shifts to Leduc Recreation Centre in Edmonton on Dec. 14-15.
The Minnesota Swarm open camp on Nov. 29 at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario. Minnesota plays the Rochester Knighthawks in a preseason game in Rochester on Dec. 8.
The Philadelphia Wings open their camp sessions on Dec. 1-2 at BucksMont Indoor Sports Center in Hatfield, Pa. On Dec. 21-22, the Wings are in Oakville, Ontario, for practice sessions and a scrimmage against the Toronto Rock on Dec. 22 at 7 p.m.
The Rochester Knighthawks open on Nov. 24 at Total Sports Experience in Gates, N.Y. They host the Minnesota Swarm in a free preseason game on Dec. 8, then travel to Quebec to play an exhibition game against the Toronto Rock on Dec. 15.
The Toronto Rock open their camp on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario. The Rock host a pair of scrimmages; Dec. 8 against the Edmonton Rush and Dec. 22 against the Philadelphia Wings. Both 7 p.m. exhibitions are free and open to the public, but seating is very limited. On Dec. 15, the Rock are in Quebec to play Rochester in an exhibition game.
The Washington Stealth open their training on Dec. 1 at Soccer First in Arlington, Wash., and Sunday, Dec. 2 at Comcast Arena in Everett, Wash. The Stealth will train at Langley Events Centre Dec. 8-9 and sessions are open to fans who have purchased tickets for the Dec. 8 exhibition against Colorado and Calgary.
