Time for a trip down the lane. Memory lane. It’s hard to believe, but wonderful to acknowledge, that the National Lacrosse League has been around its various forms for more than 25 seasons. The cool thing is that means we’ve had plenty of high-level lacrosse to enjoy over the years. The not-cool thing is that plenty of teams have come and gone over those same years. And that’s the point of today’s fan poll: Which team, whether it’s NLL or the old MILL, do you miss the most? For which team did you cheer? Maybe you live in Albany, Montreal, Arizona or Vancouver and long for the days when an NLL game was just around the corner on weekends. Either way, let’s find out which defunct pro lacrosse team is missed the most.
We didn’t include all the defunct teams. There are a good number of them out there and we wanted to keep the list manageable. But we are curious to see where this voting goes. Do the one-and-done-without-a-single-win Charlotte Cobras pull in the votes?
How about the Albany Attack, one of the better teams talent-wise to cease operations. And we can’t forget the Arizona Sting, who played in 2 title games. Lots of folks in Vancouver want the NLL to return. Will this poll reflect that sentiment? Time will tell.
