Over the last couple of years, their open tryouts have led to a pair of roster players for the Rochester Knighthawks. Tyler Burton worked his way from open camp to main training camp to a regular spot in lineup. Another defender, Jamie Batson, earned a role with the club and is looking to get more time on the active roster. This year, though, the potential surprise addition to the team plies his trade at the other end of the floor. Jordan Van Damme blossomed as a scorer and an agitator in his final year with the OLA Jr B Wallaceburg Red Devils. Now he’s made it through the first step of the process of becoming a Knighthawk and has been signed to a one-year contract so he can attend their main camp. And probably the coolest part, as he told Travis Larner of Knighthawks.net? Owner and GM Curt Styres called him personally to deliver the invitation to camp.Stamp is a TV sports announcer and lacrosse lover whose skill set made him a defender but who always dreamed of being a goal-scorer.
