The Minnesota Swarm had four first-round draft picks on Oct. 1 and today, 3 of them are officially signed. The National Lacrosse League club announced on its website that it has signed forward Kiel Matisz (No. 3 overall), forward Shayne Jackson (No. 4 overall) and defender Alex Crepinsek (No. 10 overall) to 1-year contracts. That leaves defender Brock Sorensen (No. 2 overall) as the only unsigned first-round pick for the Swarm. “Kiel is truly the full package,” Swarm coach Joe Sullivan said on the team’s website. “He brings size, leadership, smarts, and a great presence on the floor because he can do a lot of things.”

Minnesota’s announcement means 7 of the NLL’s 10 first-round picks have signed contracts with the teams that drafted them. Outside of Sorensen, only Dhane Smith (Buffalo, No. 5) and Joe Resetarits (Calgary, No. 6) have yet to sign.
