NALL clubs stock the cupboards in entry draft

The North American Lacrosse League held its 2012 Entry Draft Thursday night, two days later than originally scheduled thanks to Hurricane Sandy. The league’s four teams selected a total of 85 players. For the first seven of the draft’s 18 total rounds the league’s newest members–the Rhode Island Kingfish and Baltimore Bombers–had two picks each while the Kentucky Stickhorses and Boston Rockhoppers had one. The rest of the way it was one pick per team per round. Rhode Island kicked things off by choosing Boston Cannons’ Michael Maggio. Kentucky followed that up by picking Travis Bland, currently playing for the PLL’s Reading Rockets.

A couple of selections were interesting for how late in the process they occurred. Former Boston Blazer and US National Team member Ryan Hotaling was selected by the Rockhoppers in the 7th round, 41st overall.

Goalie Brandon Noble, who earned co-save of the year honours in CLax in 2012, was the third-last player taken, going 83rd overall to the Kingfish. Full draft results follow:
