During tonight’s webcast of game 2 at the Minto Cup Finals, IL Indoor’s Stephen Stamp spoke with Canadian Lacrosse Association President, Joey Harris who made a one extremely strong statement that some may not have heard.

“We’re happy to have a new three year deal in place that will keep the same format,” Harris didn’t elaborate on why the deal is only for three years and not longer like the ten year deal that expires at the end of this year’s National Junior tournament however it would appear that the four team round robin format is here to stay for a few more years.

According to the CLA’s twitter account, the deal has yet to be finalized and still needs to be approved by all the member associations (BCJALL, AJALL, OJALL) but an official announcement is expected shortly. Harris was unavailable for further comment but more news on this will be made available as it’s released.
