PLL: Rascals tap Hallman to coach defense

The New Jersey Rascals, proud members of the Professional Lacrosse League, are proud to announce that Corey Hallman has been named Defensive Coordinator for the 2012 season. Born & raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Hallman brings to the New Jersey Rascals more than three decades of playing and coaching experience with indoor box lacrosse clubs. Hallman joins the Rascals after serving as the Defensive Coach for the Boston Blazers of the National Lacrosse League since their inaugural season in 2009. During his three seasons with the Blazers, his defenses finished no lower than third in goals-against. He has also served as a Scout for both the New York Titans and Calgary Roughnecks of the NLL.
From 2001 thru 2005 he coached the Kitchener-Waterloo Junior ‘A’ Braves winning the 2003 Coaching Staff of the Year Award for Junior ‘A’ lacrosse before taking over the General Manager role from 2005-2008. This past summer he rejoined the Braves bench, once again winning the Coaching Staff of the Year Award in Junior ‘A’ lacrosse for 2012. Hallman has also served as Chairman of the Board for the Ontario Junior ‘A’ Lacrosse Council.
Hallman played Junior lacrosse for the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves from 1988-1992 before playing professionally for the Detroit Turbos in 1993-1994. From 1997-2000 he played Major lacrosse for the Brampton Excelsiors winning the Mann Cup in 1998 and in 2002 he captained his hometown Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks to their first President’s Cup title.
