Senior Women in action at Chicks with Sticks tourney, new web site up and running

Whitby are the defending provincial champions and play host to a senior women's lacrosse tournament this weekend.
This is the fifth year that there has been a Senior Women’s lacrosse league in Ontario and there are a number of exciting developments afoot. The five teams that comprise the league are joined at this weekend’s Chicks with Sticks tournament in Whitby by a club from Sherbrooke, Quebec. The Grand River Attack has won three provincial titles and are a strong contender again this year. The Whitby Rush took the Ontario title for the first time in 2011. They hope to defend it against the Attack as well as Toronto, Peterborough and Akwesasne this summer.
The league has also launched a web site to provide access to schedules, scores and statistics. While no Friday results had been uploaded as of this morning, the site does have results from the Grand River tournament last month and includes scoring and goalie leaders. You can also find today’s schedule there if you want to go and check out the top women’s players in Ontario.
