The Clarington Green Gaels would love nothing more than to be finished with their first-round playoff series in the minimum amount of games. And considering they’ve won their first 2 games by scores of 18-6 and 16-8, there really is very little to suggest they won’t be finished with the Mimico Mountaineers in their best-of-5 series by about 10 o’clock tonight. Game 3 of their OLA Junior B series faces off in Clarington at 8 p.m. and coach Jason Crosbie is looking for a sharper effort than what he saw in Game 2. “We did a lot of good things, but we can also do some things better,” Crosbie told DurhamRegion.com. Getting through to the next round will give the team time to prepare for the winner of the Kahnawake vs. Halton Hills series, where HH holds a 2-0 lead heading into Saturday’s Game 3.
