Colorado Mammoth defenseman Mac Allen, one of the National Lacrosse League’s top defenders, will miss an extended portion of the season due to a knee injury, ILIndoor.com has learned. “Mac sustained a knee injury playing for the Peterborough Lakers that will keep him out for an extended period of time this season,” Mammoth GM Steve Govett said. “We are hopeful for his return prior to the end of the season.” Govett added that Allen had surgery in early November will be added to the Physically Unable to Perform list today. Allen is regarded as one of the top defenders in the game and the Mammoth will miss his versatile presence, but they are loaded with depth in the back end.
