Corbeil’s agent, Chaka Bainbridge, says he and Corbeil were both surprised to hear of the trade and call Rush GM and coach Derek Keenan “the Danny Ocean of the National Lacrosse League.”
Corbeil is considered one of the up-and-coming star defenders in the NLL and should give Edmonton’s back end a significant boost. His presence with the Rush could also make it more palatable for his Brampton Excelsiors’ teammate Kyle Rubisch to join the club if they select him second in the Boston Blazers dispersal draft, as they are expected to.
In return for Corbeil, Buffalo gets the first pick in the second round of this year’s very deep entry draft, which should yield a good player, as well as the first rounder next year.
Stay tuned for further details as they become available.Stamp is a TV sports announcer and lacrosse lover whose skill set made him a defender but who always dreamed of being a goal-scorer. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
