As we approach Friday’s National Lacrosse Leauge dispersal draft of the Boston Blazers, lacrosse fans all over have been trying to figure out who would go where. Today, we have some news that will shake up the order just a bit. ILIndoor.com has learned that the Colorado Mammoth have sent the 3rd overall pick in Friday’s dispersal draft to the Minnesota Swarm for defensemen John Sullivan, Rory Smith and forward Sean Pollock. With this trade, the Swarm will now have the 3rd and 4th overall pick from the Boston Blazers’ roster and depending on who the Philadelphia Wings and Edmonton Rush choose, the Swarm are in a spot to acquire two fantastic players to improve their roster. It’s expected that the Wings will take Dan Dawson with the first pick in Friday’s draft but after that it’s anyone’s guess as to whom the Rush will take. Will they improve their back end and select Kyle Rubisch, solidify their goaltending with Anthony Cosmo or pick up an offensive threat like Casey Powell or Josh Sanderson? No matter what the Rush do, the Swarm will now have a shot of two of the remaining guys. Stay tuned to ILIndoor.com for more as this deal breaks.Teddy Jenner is one the leading sources for lacrosse information.
