CLax prepared to go all eastern for now, but still looking for western franchises

Canadian Lacrosse League is still hoping to have teams in more than Ontario and Quebec when its first season faces off
So the window of opportunity for western clubs is closing, but it’s still open a crack and the league would love to have some western teams join the new professional league as founding members, St. John says. So far there are teams in Montreal, Ohsweken, Brampton, Oshawa, Kitchener and London. An announced Peterborough club is in limbo because of arena availability but may still surface in Cobourg this year.
St. John points out that there is no franchise fee for founding member clubs while future teams joining the league will have to pay a franchise fee. He encourages anyone interested in having a team in CLax to contact him through the league’s web site.
