While it initially appeared that the suspended Game 2 between the Calgary Mountaineers and Edmonton Eclipse, called due to excess sweat making the playing surface increasingly unsafe, would be picked up from around the 4 minute mark of the first overtime frame prior to Game 3 this coming Saturday, IL Indoor learned today that the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League’s rulebook has a different route for this exact scenario. The game will now need to be completely replayed, Game 2 and Game 3 taking place on Saturday and Sunday at Calgary’s Indus Arena. Game 4 and 5, if necessary, will be played at Bill Hunter Arena on July 30th and August 1st.

The RMLL rulebook states:

8.4 In the event rain or some other condition makes the playing area unfit after the game has started, the Referee shall have the authority to stop the game; and if forty minutes have been played, it will constitute a Regular Season game. If a Playoff or a Provincial game, the game will be rescheduled.

The Mounties currently lead the series 1-0 after taking Game 1 14-8.
