As Insider first confirmed last week, the Rochester Knighthawks made official during a press conference at the Blue Cross War Memorial last night, former first round entry draft pick and prized off-season addition Matt Vinc inking a three-year deal with the franchise. Above, check out what Vinc had to say last night, and after the jump check out the select few other keepers that have been drafted in the NLL’s first round, plus the links.

Bellow, check out those 11 backstops, who took ‘em, where they came from, when they went, and how much action they’ve seen in the NLL since.

A couple pretty high profile prospects released yesterday by the Knighthawks. Peter Jacobs, who was picked up from the Toronto Rock (after the Portland dispersal) for Sandy Chapman, who went onto win the league’s Defender of the Year, was cut loose, along with former Junior A scoring champ and Insider Junior of the Year contenderAndrew Potter, who came back to Rochester in the Gavin Prout/Ilija Gajic trade (NLL)… MTV’s Teen Wolf remake, which sees Michael J. Fox’s former character drop his bball for a lacrosse stick in the latest version of the flick, gave fans a sneak peek yesterday (The Sun)… Former NLLer Rodney Tapp has been named the Owen Sound ProTeam NorthStars new bench boss. “It was definitely something we’d had in mind. As a head coach, if I didn’t use their knowledge and experience, I’d be a moron. Between the three of us (assistant coaches Willy Arnold & Chris Barfoot) we’ve probably got 100 years experience in lacrosse.” – Tapp (Owen Sound Sun Times).

And check out Paul Rabil suiting up with a helmet cam strapped to his melon during the Hawaii Invitational a couple weekends back (Inside Lacrosse)…
