New York, NY — US Indoor Lacrosse will hold their final training camp sessions this weekend at DuBurns Arena in Baltimore, MD. The weekend culminates with a Red vs White exhibition game on Saturday at 7:00PM.
Many current and former pro players are expected to participate this weekend, including Matt Alrich, Mitch Belisle, Tom Ethington, Brian Langtry, Brett Manney, Erik Miller, John Orsen, Jack Reid, Max Seibald, Drew Westervelt and others.
“We anticipate this weekend to be very competitive with it being the last of the tryout series,” said Team USA President and General Manager Graham D’Alvia. “The talent level and unmatched desire to be a part of Team USA has continually brought out the best in the players. We know as I would expect the players to realize that this is the last time the group will be together before we are in Prague, It is a very important weekend.”
Team USA previously held tryouts on September 10-12 in Wayne, NJ, followed by the first-ever Bowhunter Cup, a 13 11 win over the Iroquois Nationals in an exhibition game in Syracuse, NY, on September 25th. NLL stars Casey Powell and Paul Rabil headlined the American roster for the exhibition.
This weekend marks the final opportunity for Team USA coaches and management to evaluate players before naming the team’s extended roster, which will be trimmed to a 23-man travel team roster prior to the 2011 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships.
The World Indoor Lacrosse Championship takes place at Telsa Arena in Prague, Czech Republic on May 21-28, 2011. Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, England, Finland, Ireland and the Iroquois Nationals will join the United States in the one-week tournament.
Tickets for the Red vs White exhibition game are $5 each and can be purchased at DuBurns Arena.
