Insider has learned that due to the last minute availabilty of Paul Rabil the US has been able to add the Washington Stealth Champion’s Cup winner to their roster for this Saturday night’s Bowhunter Cup, the Americans taking on the Iroquois Nationals in an exhibition game in preperation of the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships next year.

Rabil will be taking Chase Williams‘ spot on the team this weekend. Williams, who was drafted by the Boston Blazers earlier this month, projected by Insider to be one of 2010’s top pro prospects, has duel citizenship for both Canada and the US, and even though he is unavailable for this weekend’s friendly, he remains a contender for the WILC roster.

This will be Rabil’s first chance at playing for USIL, suiting up for the American’s field lacrosse team at the World Championship’s in Manchester, England this past summer, a key member of their gold medal winning roster.

Earlier this summer Rabil said, “To have the opportunity to compete for our country for a second year in a row, playing the sport that I love, is quite the honor. I have played this game at every level, and hope to continue to pursue the next World championship with some of the best American indoor players in the country.”

The Americans officially announced their roster yesterday for this upcoming weekend’s game at the Bowhunter Cup, the game being played this Saturday Sept. 25th at the Oncenter War Memorial in Syracuse, New York (8PM EST). The game will also be streamed live online at NLL.com.

It’s anticipated the Iroquois Nationals will officially announce their roster for Saturday night in coming days, recent Rochester Knighthawks first overall draft pick Cody Jamieson expexted to be suiting up for the Nationals.

Rabil is currently nominated for several Inside Lacrosse Laxie Awards including Player of the Year.
