The National Lacrosse League has announced via their transaction report that restricted free agent defender Kyle Ross is now property of the Toronto Rock, Ross signing an offer sheet with the Rock earlier this week, the Calgary Roughnecks, who had acquired Ross through the Josh Sanderson trade with the Boston Blazers, unable to match Toronto’s contract offer.

Ross is the third restricted free agent defender the team has attempted to sign this past off-season, unable to secure Paul Dawson or John Orsen in previous attempts through the Blazers, who had previously traded Dawson when Toronto offered him a similar contract. It’s believed the Roughnecks were unable to match the Rock’s offer due to their current bonus pay structure, presumably also unable to move Ross like the Blazers did with Dawson. After the jump, check out Ross’ highlight footage from the ‘09 season with the Blazers.
