Dana took down Stephanie in their opening round clash; we’re all excited Dana’s still in the hunt and bid farewell to Stephanie, who is undoubtedly being consoled by the recent success of the Flyers. Dana joins an all star line-up of girls that have advanced into the second round of the playoffs. Also, don’t forget (I never told anyone), but three girls were given first round byes at random, so even though the opening round is coming to a close, we still have fresh blood waiting in the wings.

The NLL Championships are nearing, but we still have a few rounds to go, so don’t check out once the NLL crowns a winner, because we all know the NILLInsider.com Girl of the Year is the ultimate honor of indoor lacrosse. In our final first round match-up, we have Pilita of the Washington Stealth going against Laura of the Minnesota Swarm. Both of these girls are worth the price of a ticket, so they’re certainly worth a vote, but you can only vote for one, so do so wisely (actually you guys can vote a million times for either).

Pilita is a bundle of energy out of Washington state. She’s a full-time preschool teacher by day, instilling the winning ways of the Stealth into the next great generation of danglers. Pilitas also an avid fan of food, often choosing nutrition over hunger; her favorite is a classic dish of spaghetti with meat sauce.

Laura is a former Minnesota Vikings cheerleader captain who has found comfort in the hectic world of indoor lacrosse. She’s new to the NLL, but already has a favorite player in Zach Greer. She has three pets all named after foods, two cats named Sushi and Coconut, plus a dog named Sprinkles. For everyone’s sake, I hope Sprinkles is a female. When the Swarm aren’t banging the boards, she works with a talent acquisition firm, but admits no one acquires more talent that Girl of the Week, Inc.
