NLLInsider.com Girl of the Week: It’s Jade of the Boston Blazers

Jade of the Blazers
Jade of the Blazers

This may of been my favorite Girl of the Week interview of the year; if she doesn’t claim Girl of the Year, she’s definitely a lock for interview of the year. Our NLLInsider Girl of the Week is Jade of the Boston Blazers and she has as much personality as Boston does trophies. She’s witty, fun and I think she’s looking for a date; she didn’t slip in the usual “I love when my boyfriend…” line that past selections have used to let me know I’m just a flowed out writer with no chance at getting past an email address.

Jade is a Boston native and a true sports fan, not just a post-season fan, but someone who actually appreciates being in the Garden night after night. So, I hope you enjoy Jade and our discussion of the future of the McDonalds menu, amongst other hard hitting topics that have nothing to do with health care.

Insider: What do you like about Boston?

Jade: I’ve lived in Boston my whole life and have to say that I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else! I went to high school right in the city near Fenway Park and loved driving by there every morning. It’s an honor to live in a city filled with national historic landmarks and monuments as well as having the opportunity to be from a city that has such great sports teams! I am a big sports fan and love being at the Garden to cheer on the Celtics, Bruins, and of course the Boston Blazers!! It is so exciting to be able to step foot on the TD Garden floor where such great athletes have played and continue to play, and where championships have been won! Then also love the nightlife in Boston; you never will be let down by a night out in the city!

Insider: What do you enjoy about NLL/indoor lacrosse, or lacrosse as a sport in general?

Jade: Lacrosse is such a thrilling sport to watch! I played hockey when I was younger and feel like lacrosse is similar to hockey which is why I think I am a big fan of lacrosse. Lacrosse players however, seem to have it harder since they are on foot, constantly moving up and down the field the whole game. It definitely takes great athleticism and dedicated players to play this hard hitting sport. The Boston Blazers are a team of such talented guys who play hard for their fans and are willing to put forth great effort at every game they play. Professional lacrosse definitely deserves more attention and hopefully will be recognized for its hard-working and talented athletes.

Insider: Do you have a favorite player?

Jade: I would have to say Sean Morris and Jack Reid are my favorite players.

Insider: I see you have some UMass bias, what do you like about their game?

Jade: Well I gotta stay true to the New England boys! They are both incredible players, always helping out the Boston Blazers offensively and defensively. They play their butts off, working hard to make their fans proud! They are great guys both on and off the field.

Insider: Have you ever played lacrosse?

Jade: I have never played lacrosse but I’ve shot around before and think I could potentially be good at it. Who knows, maybe next year you’ll see me on the field playing professional lacrosse!

Insider: What do you do outside of dancing?

Jade: I recently graduated from Merrimack College last May and I am currently working as a waitress at Lucky’s Lounge in Boston. If you are ever in the Boston area, I suggest stopping by Lucky’s! It has delicious food and awesome waitresses! I am currently in the process of studying for the Real Estate Salesperson exam to work as a residential real estate agent in and around the Boston area starting this summer. I am really looking forward to starting a career in Real Estate. Aside from work and dancing, I love being with my friends and family as much as possible!

Insider: What kind of properties are you going to sell?

Jade: I plan on selling newly developed homes around the Boston area. Having the opportunity to provide potential buyers with great homes is something I really want to be a part of! I majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, which I feel will help me with succeeding as a Real Estate Agent. After I have some years of experience as an Agent, I would like to get my Broker’s license and start my own Real Estate Agency!

Insider: If you could have a super-power, what would it be and why?

Jade: Hmm..To fly! That would be so much fun! You would be able to sleep more since it would take 2 seconds to get from place to place.

Insider: Would you lay down and extend your arms as your whisk from place to place?

Jade: I sure would! I’m thinking about how awesome that would be! I’m even creating in my head what my cape would look like if I had the power to fly!

Insider: What would you do if I just handed you $100 million?

Jade:I would definitely share the wealth with all friends and family since $100 million is a lot of money! I would love to travel the world with some of the money! I’ve always wanted to start my own charity if I had enough money to do so. I’ve been blessed with so many great things in my life that I would love to give others the same opportunity!

Insider: Name two dead people you’d want to meet?

Jade: My grandparents!

Insider: Respect for that answer; name two people alive you’ve like to meet?

Jade: Jay-Z!!

Insider: You still get one more pick! What would your ideal day with the Jigga-man be like?

Jade: My ideal day with the talented Jigga-man would be to hang out with him in the studio and listen to him rap away and then be able to rap with him. I like to rap for my friends but again they tell me how bad I am . I guess I would just need a little practice before stepping into the studio with Jigga. If my rapping fails, I’ll just wait for Beyonce to visit Jay-Z at the studio, and do the Single-ladies dance with her.
Oh and since I have one more pick I would have to say Justin Bieber. I’m a real big fan of his but let’s make that our little secret!

Insider: Worst pick up line you ever heard?

Jade: “If you were a new sandwich at Mcdonalds, you’d be called McGorgeous.”

Insider: That line just changed my life, can you introduce me to this modern day poet?

Jade: Actually now that I read that pick up line again, it’s actually not half bad! Haha, maybe guys can try that one out or better yet maybe I can try it out on a guy!
Insider: Best pick up line you ever heard?

Jade: Pick up lines usually make me laugh so I can’t say I’ve heard the best pick up line just yet.

Insider: So far, every girl of the week has denounced pick-up lines, is a simple introduction all you guys really want to hear?

Jade: I wouldn’t exactly say I denounce pick-up lines. I think they are actually
humorous if guys use them in a funny or creative way, but a simple and friendly introduction definitely works for me!

Insider: What can a guy do to get noticed (in a good way)?

Jade: If a guy has rhythm and can hold his own on the dance floor then that’s definitely a way to get noticed.

Insider: Favorite Book?

Jade: “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton still remains my favorite book!

Insider: Favorite Movie?

Jade: I am big into comedies so I would have to say Wedding Crashers!

Insider: Ever crash a wedding yourself?

Jade: I haven’t just yet! Funny you ask that because I’ve actually thought about it and think I could definitely pull it off! I’m a big prankster, and if you asked any of my friends, they would most likely say that I am one of the best. I’ve done some funny ones (harmless I must add), that I am actually sitting here laughing about right now!

Insider: Favorite Food?

Jade: That’s a tough one because I pretty much like every type of food! I would have to say Surf&Turf is one of my favorite meals. Oh yeah and anything with Frank’s Red Hot Sauce!!

Insider: Would you douse a McGorgeous in Red Hot?

Jade: I totally would!!! Maybe I will give Mcdonald’s a call and propose the idea of “The McGorgeous” with Frank’s Red Hot! If it becomes successful, I will share the profit with you since you helped with the idea! I think big things could come of this!

Insider: I could use the money, and the gift cards that I assume come with inventing things for fast food joints, but anyways, what was your favorite TV show as a kid?

Jade: I was a big fan of star search because I’ve always thought I could sing. My dreams of being a singer began to fade since everyone told me how awful my voice was. I still sing away thinking my voice isn’t half bad. I guess my ears don’t hear the same as everyone else’s

Insider: Haha, any thoughts about Dancing with the Stars, maybe that’s more up your alley?

Jade: Yeah that would definitely be more up my alley! However, I would have to become a star in order to be on the show but maybe with the launch of the “The McGorgeous” with Frank’s Red Hot I could become well-known and receive a call to be on the show! Am I dreaming big here?!

Insider: Dream vacation and/or best trip you’ve been on?

Jade: I went to Sydney, Australia to visit my sister when she was studying abroad. It was absolutely amazing. It was gorgeous there and the beaches were unreal. I took surfing lessons while I was there, which was a blast!

Insider: Best date you’ve ever been on?

Jade: Well I’ve never been taken on a date before so whoever wants to take me on my first date could possibly be considered the best date since my standards wouldn’t be too high. As long as it doesn’t include taking me to McDonald’s to order off the dollar menu, then I would most likely be pretty content!

Insider: Is this a case of guys being intimidated to death by you?

Jade: I’m not sure! People definitely shouldn’t be intimidated by me. I have fun and extremely goofy personality and I am very easy going so no need to be intimidated!!

Insider: I think you just opened a flood gate Jade.
