National Lacrosse League Girl of the Week: Matchup 6 is Heidi vs. Angela

Every once in a while, we have a blowout winner on the National Lacrosse League floor, so why should these voting matchups be any different? Krystle of Calgary’s Drill Crew has rolled to a 217-31 win over Brookelyn of the Toronto Rock dance team. So on goes Krystle, and who she’ll face next is the winner of this week’s matchup is rather interesting. Why? Because both dancers are coming at us from the same team! It’s Heidi up against Angela, and in the long and storied history of these matchups, this is a first. Teammates duking it out. Should be interesting.

Heidi was introduced to us back on March 19 and she made quite an impression on us. A Colorado State graduate with a degree in Public Relations, she’s a first-year dancer for the Mammoth and by all accounts, she’s loving every minute of it. The team’s been a bit inconsistent this season but this much is for sure: Heidi and her girls have plenty of excitement at the Pepsi Center this season. And if you read the introductory piece on Heidi back in March, you all have had plenty of time to find a Batmobile so you can score major points with her. Of course, if any of you REALLY landed a REAL Batmobile, chances are pretty good you’d score a ton of points with just about anyone out there, regardless of gender. Batmobile or not, Heidi’s gonna need some votes to get through to the next round but before you cast any vote, be sure to keep reading to learn more of her opponent, and teammate.

Angela’s no stranger to these pages. She was an NLL Girl of the Week last year and it was no joke that she popped back on to these pages back on April 1. She’s also no stranger to the lacrosse scene in Denver. She’s a fourth-year member of the Mammoth’s Wooly Bunch so she’s very familiar with the ups and downs of the lacrosse world. But are there really that many downers in lacrosse? Someone once told us that a bad day of lacrosse still is better than a good day at work, so hopefully that’s the approach she and her mates take with her. Still, for as much struggling the Mammoth have endured this season, the fact is they’re still alive for a playoff berth and like any coach will tell you, if that’s not motivation enough, what is? Angela’s on the record as saying that the best part of her job as a dancer with the team is the fans, so ya’ll must treat her correct. And that’s comforting to know.

As interesting as it is that these two dancers are teammates, there may also be a rivalry brewing. Ya see, Heidi’s a Colorado State grad and Angela’s a student at the University of Colorado. Rams vs. Buffaloes? Should make for some interesting wagers, eh? We’ll leave that between the two of them and keep the focus on this here matchup because no matter who emerges, chances are pretty good they’ll be busy cheering and dancing for a Mammoth team that’s making some noise in the playoffs.

So cast your vote today. Heidi or Angela?
