Roik and Doyle help Stealth stomp Mammoth 14-9, plus lacrosse story links

Things looked a little rough for the San Jose Stealth as they went down 4-2 in the first and fell behind further as Brian Langtry struck just over one minute into the second, but it was all SJ for the rest of the half as they scored six in a row. They kept their winning ways up in the second half, outscoring the Mammoth 6-4 to end things with a 14-9 win.

Colin Doyle led all scorers with two goals and seven assists, rookie Rhys Duch had three and four, Jeff Zywicki three and two, and Cam Sedgwick two and three. Tom Johnson and Paul Rabil each added two goals and one assist. Matt Roik stopped 45 of 54, Eric Martin picked up 11 looseballs and assisted on one, and Curtis Hodgson assisted on two and scooped up 9.

For the Mammoth, Gavin Prout set up five goals, Langtry scored three and assisted on two, and Chris Gill snapped in three. The Mammoth have a chance to redeem themselves tomorrow in Edmonton.
