Colorado Mammoth defender Jim Moss on the shelf for entire season

NLL Insider has learned that Colorado Mammoth vet defender and former All-Star, Jim Moss, has opted not to play this season while nursing a shoulder injury that kept him out of a handful of games last year.

The Mammoth announced their opening day 23-man roster yesterday, moving Moss to the physically unable to perform list, where he will likely remain for the entire 2009 season.

Sources say that instead of again playing injured, Moss has decided to repair his battered shoulder this winter and ‘09 off-season in order to return to the team 100% for the 2010 season.

Colorado will again have Bruce Murray in their D unit this year after re-selecting the hulking defender in the second Arizona Sting Dispersal Draft earlier this off-season, and have also promoted Oakton, Virginia native, Chris Gill, and former Butler stud, Steve Forsythe, to the team’s defensive cast.

Forsythe, an American field ball player that has transitioned to the indoor game over the past three plus years, first started out playing Junior A ball with the Surrey Stickmen and most recently played with their New Westminster Salmonbellies during the 2007 season.
